PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT BUNGALOW LOFT CONVERSION
BERKSHIRE
The Brief:
The family owners of this bungalow in Berkshire wanted to explore the possibilities of converting their unused loft space to create a new master bedroom.
The Architectural Design & Structural Engineering:
A straightforward loft conversion can normally be carried out within Permitted Development, as in this case. Our design has gabled the roof from its former hipped-roof form, improving the property aesthetics and using the new roof shape to create the required space for a new master bedroom with ensuite and dressing area.
To access the new master suite we are installing a staircase, leading directly into the bedroom suite and cleverly integrated into the existing downstairs layout. Downstairs we are opening up the rear of the property to create a spacious and light-filled open plan living area with kitchen-diner.
Finally, the exterior will be rendered to present a contemporary facade.
The Result:
The project is now in build phase and we are able to showcase photos from the new master ensuite which is well underway. We will be uploading more photos as the build progresses in the creation of this spacious and contemporary 3-bedroom family home, with upstairs master bedroom suite and downstairs open plan living-diner.
