Transforming a Kitchen while Conserving Time and Budget

Our clients in Esher, Surrey, wanted to open up their kitchen to capture more natural light.

The kitchen was formerly set within one of two separate rooms situated to the rear of the home. On removing the separating wall, we created one large room to serve as an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.

To conserve both time and budget, we sought to reuse the existing steel support beam that ran between the two former separate rooms. Where a large T-section wall was removed, we inserted two columns to act as replacement supports. This structural approach saved our clients around £7,000-10,000 of steel and additional modification costs.

The result is a light and contemporary open plan kitchen, dining and living area, which benefits from a full southerly aspect.

Our clients are delighted, reporting, "It is a huge difference for us now the kitchen is open and bright!"
