REPLACEMENT HOUSE FOLLOWING DEMOLITION OF EXISTING BUNGALOW
EFFINGHAM,
SURREY
The Brief:
The family owners of an existing chalet bungalow in Surrey wanted to explore the possibilities of replacing the dwelling with a purpose built new home.
The Architectural Design & Structural Engineering:
The original house has been extended multiple times and could not easily be modified as a new space given the greenbelt volume and size constraints. Additionally improving the house in line with modern standard would have been costly and resulted in no tangible space or usability benefits to the owners.
It was decided to knock down and rebuild.
The new house has a master suite, vaulted entrance hall, large open plan kitchen dining space which opens on to a south facing patio area. Large office for comfortable quiet home working and a rear wing as a separate play area with mezzanine for the children to disappear to. This is on top of the four double bedrooms upstairs and guest room with ensuite on the ground floor.
Finally, the exterior will be rendered to present a contemporary facade.
The Result:
The project is now in build phase, and we will be uploading photos to showcase the new home once complete. The family cannot wait to be in their new space. We will keep you posted.
